Sydney (and much of the rest of Australia) is still on my wish list, right at the top. I’m determined to get there eventually. I’ve heard great things about the place, though the city seems way too big for me!

Sounds like you had a fairly good trip overall. It’s good to hear a positive view since another blogger I follow wrote an unfavorable post about his trip and being gay-bashed verbally (by a homeless man, no less). Seems the Aussies are a lot more accepting than us Yanks. heh

My best friend in the whole world (literally) was at Sydney Opera House for the Tunick photoshoot. It was certainly an experience from what he said, but he was so exhausted from lack of sleep it took him at least a day to recover. And he’s from Canberra! lol

You’re welcome anytime! So glad to hear you had such a good time! I was at the Toybox party the weekend after the parade. That weekend there was the Mardi Gras after-party (which is just absolutely insane – think 4 football-sized fields all filled with dancing shirtless hot guys) and the following morning, Toybox, at Luna Park (Sydney’s theme park next to the Harbour bridge). Someone decided to pour lube on the dancefloor. It was crazy! I only just got home back to Brisbane today (about 40 mins from the Gold Coast) because I never want to leave Sydney around Mardi Gras time

Just a bit of information: the painting showing on the photo with the artist is based on an early work of Italian baroque painter CARAVAGGIO http://www.codart.nl/images/CaravaggioBoyWithBasketOfFruitRomeBorgheseW.jpg; Derek Jarman did a beautiful film on him in which he re-enacted this painting.
BTW, I am from a similar sounding country but I have no clue why they are calling Sidney OZ???
