The Real Official Website Of Actor, Director & Adult Star

1
Sep

This is almost a week old. I sat on it for a while because I hated how the mic fuzzed on my little singing bit, but hey . . . I guess it’s not so bad. I do realize it just cuts off. That’s the other reason why I didn’t post it sooner. But life is imperfect – and so is this video blog. So love me for me and all of me; not just the parts that are easy :-P

When the clip cut off I was talking about shooting the flashback for Judas Kiss between Timo Descamps and his character Shane Lyons.  Shooting was a big rush due to scheduling . . . and now that it’s been a week since I made this clip I can’t remember at all where I was going with it.

J.T. Tepnapa, the director, has made a strict point of not sexualizing (I just made that word up, it’s okay, you can use it too. I give you permission) me or exploiting my adult image in connection with this film. I appreciate that he wants to help me illustrate to the world that there is so much more to me and my talent than what has already been seen. Although, it has been nerve wracking. I’m in the best shape of my life and all I want to do is show it off in a way that as many people will get to see it as possible.  All things considered, maybe it’s not merely the fans and viewers/ entertainment world that need a little perception adjustment, but myself as well.

I know there is more for me out there. Yet, I still get caught up very easily in the physical.  I think when things get challenging it is very easy for an adult star to instinctively default back to what they know will get them the biggest results the fastest.

How do you feel about people working to step out of their comfort zone? Do you think artists or entertainers are given a fair opportunity in our society to share more than what made them successful or individuals of interest?

Your Friend and Lover,
Brent Corrigan

Your hair looks great, nothing wrong with it. You seem to sing on key okay. Will you have musical accompaniment? Singing just takes practice. Oh, and about making up words, if Sara Palin can do it you can too!

Wow I totally loved it. Keep on…..

  • Handsome Homebody

You are adorable no matter what your hair looks like!

  • Joanna

You always look good! No worry. And your singing was okay. Don’t give yourself too much pressure. Everyone have their 1st and I think it’really cool for you to try something outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself to be a more versatile entertainer, not just an actor. Keep up the good work and hoping to see more of your work soon…;)

  • Brian

watching you sing made my heart melt! I mean, it’s wasn’t the best singing voice ever, but you weren’t bad at all! It was adorable! as a music major, i would say it’s stuff like supporting the sound and technique that would be stuff to work on, but there’s definitely a good voice!

i want a man to sing to me like that someday!

  • Jamie

Brent … just left a comment on queerty and you need to know there are people supporting you. I love you to bits and get giddy everytime i see those words …”Your friend and Lover, Brent”

I can’t wait for the film and your singing is great. I was imagining you singing to me and me alone.

    Love you,
    Jamie

  • flemming

I love the animal on your head & look forward to hearing you sing in the film!

  • ernie

No. I don’t think an artist or anyone else is given a fair opportunity to go beyond what first struck the gong of their observers. Maybe some can go beyond that but it is not in the cards for most. Most people are stuck with what they started with.

Some have opportunities and waste them. Others have opportunities, use them and attain the heights. Some never get opportunities and their lives go as best they can. Some start with nothing, strive to achieve, make their own opportunities and do achieve greatness.

  • arturo rodriguez

Hi Brent, yes, I believe that society gives that opportunity for artists and entertainers. but first of all, these characters must realize if they are really able to undertake this new career, and be aware of that actually have the skills and attitudes for successful and not be a failure. I am convinced you about the quality and qualities, in your case is much, much more to offer society and above all to the public that you are missing because of take care only adult entertainment ,aimed in most of the cases to a specifies sexual orientation what, you and me very well Know it, constitutes a very small, but for me and for many people who look to the future, well respected and considered part of society.
ok. go ahead, knock at the door of the people you have forgeted and will find a new future.
    excuse my english.
    good luck.
    your friend,lover and brother. arturo

  • Jakeisready

Jeez, cute is your default! No, I don’t think artists are encouraged to leave their comfort zone. People usually want more of what the artist has already given them. It’s up to the artist to challenge himself and surprise his fans.

    Artists lead, audiences follow,

  • annan

sorry you suck, stick to porn!

  • UK-Guy

your hair looked great, and your singing was good, better than some shit in the charts. you’re cool brent, just be yourself, it all comers in time

  • Keith

Good job singing. I’m a big fan of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” too.
Taking a step out of your comfort zone is healthy now and then. It reminds you that life is bigger than just you and challenges people to accept you for more than just what they have seen.

  • Ruud

    Ey Brent,

I’m from Amsterdam in the Netherlands and a great fan.

I don’t like see you a little bit frustrated because sometimes things are NOT easy. But it’s good to come out the comfort zone and do new things. I realy believe you can do this.

In the shower video blog you said; i’m not afraid for anything………………. show that to us!!!!!
    Go and performance well.

please send me a mail if you read this.

    Grtz from Amsterdam,

    Ruud

  • Dana

You can hold a note a lot better than I can! I’m sure with practice you’ll do great. Boom crew should eliminate most distortion and the rest will come if you practice – try recording as you just did and keep doing it till you like it. Best wishes!

  • Julian

You’re in one of the rooms in one of the halls at UW! :D I never lived there, but I def. recognize it from Orientation 2 years ago. I was going to attend your fundraiser at the Lobby, but I was in a pageant for Mr. Neighbours. How’s the filming going?

    Hope all is well bud

Coming from an adult performance background, it sounds like you are struggling with a common trap inexperienced actors (not just adult, but any newbie) fall into: thinking too much while acting.

The difference between porn acting and straight acting is the difference between external and internal.

Porn acting requires the actor to be constantly aware of how his body looks, positioning for the camera, taking direction on how to move physically.

Straight acting requires the actor to forget about everything except what’s happening inside the character’s mind and heart, taking direction on how to keep it real. Sure you have to hit your mark and follow the blocking, but what the director wants from you is honesty and a real person – not a sex doll fantasy.

Porn actor: “Can the camera see my asshole?”
Straight actor: “Can the camera see my soul?”

A common mistake of novice or beginner actors is to try too hard because they want to prove they can “act” – instead of just being in the moment and listening to what is happening around them. Many seasoned established actors will tell you that it took them a lifetime to learn to “stop acting”.

    Break a leg Brent.

  • Todd

I’m sure you are a fantastic actor, certainly a beautiful model, and your singing? Well, have I mentioned what good actor you are? Seriously, you sing better than most (certainly better than I), you just need a skosh more vocal training, and you’re there. Don’t let critics throw you, you have to listen to your own voice! Go get ‘em, Brent!

  • Joanna

I think you just have to follow your own guts. Others can comment and criticize but it’s your own life that you’re living. Take in those constructive suggestions and hell with those who doesn’t appreciate and accept what you can achieve. Live life to the fullest and you’ll never know what you can achieve until you try. Keep up the good work!

  • Stacy

Get not enough time cuz i wil take the exam tomorrow. So, Brent, just one thing you need to remember: You are the best when you ‘d like to show the real you, you are the natural, always~

P.S. i’d like to share with you something what am i follow and doing now.
    Passion, Plan, Perfomance, Persistance!

  • I have not watched the clip, just read the text and want to respond right away. I do not believe in a strict separation of the „erotic part“ and the other parts of a personality. If a person has, as you put it, „erotic magnetism“, it pervades his/her whole personality. To consciously „deerotisize“ a highly erotic personality cannot be a successful strategy in arts and entertainment. People smoothly enlarge and diversify their repertoire, they do not simply shift from what they do best to what they cannot do that well. Usually it is not such a clever move to put a musical star into a melodrama without singing unless they happen to be dramatic actors as well.
As a very good example you can take David Duchovny who relies on his sex symbol image in “Californication”, but still you can see that he is super smart as well (and the show as such is very smart AND sexy). He does not need to be “less sexy” to prove that he is smart.
If I had to cast you I would chose a “sexy part” with an unexpected twist or an interesting extension in another direction.
“In the closet” was perfect casting – you have a talent for the dark and uncanny. I hope to see you as an alien, demon or villain in the near future ! Best would be a fallen angel – hopefully I can provide a script!

  • stephen

Well, you’re all the talk here at Hedwig Broadway. Learn the rest of the song and maybe you can be the understudy.

  • A cappella god that would terrify me! I sang in a Choir I hated when we lacked musical accompaniment.

No one would ever accuse you of not being fearless! Voice is not bad BTW but then I have heard little bits of you singing to music playing.

looks like the JudasKiss shoot has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience which makes me happy, look forward to seeing this!

jamesdeanslepthere you have some good advice, no one should think for a moment some porn models are not also acting. the dirty little secret in porn is sometimes you do have to act and under conditions that would make a film actor blanch!

As the worlds of adult and film merger closer you do see which actors can handle an intensely sexual performance and which porn actors are good at both(acting and porn)

The short list of who can do both well is probably fewer than 10% in either field.

I agree with Ernie very few performers are allowed by fan’s,producers, studios etc to step out of the genre they became famous in. Be it Music,Film,TV,Porn

I think your fans have been much more accepting of your acting because we noticed it from the beginning, the ability the talent was always visible to US!

That ten percent again how many in The Velvet Mafia were actually acting vs reading lines?

Everything you have done up to this summer has been apart of your training even “roles” some might discount.

“Can the camera see my soul?”

I think the answer to that is more than you realize.

  • HyperionCT

“Sexualizing” is a real word, so you didn’t actually make it up…but who cares, you are so fucking cute, it doesn’t matter!

  • LeeZ

How adorable! I really love the dead animal on your head Brent, it looks cute.
Also I was happy while I was watching your singing. I don’t think it’s the best singing ever, but I think it’s great. I didn’t take music as my major so I don’t know much about your musical interval or something, but I can notice that you can really express the feeling during singing.
For your question, I think public always want artists and entertainers to show their other side which is not shown yet. If the artists and entertainers always show the similar sides, people easily feel boring to them. So Brent, just go for it!
Actually I’ve been a big fan of you for almost 3~4 years and I’ve always hoped you to go out of your comfort zone. I’ve believed that you can do quite well in filming industry-of course not only about porn-. I’m so happy to hear you that you want to go out of that zone.
Just be confident, Brent! Don’t be shy, plz!!!!!! Believe yourself…… I can definitely see you who already became an successful and famous entertainer :)

  • bobby

Dawg, that was pitchy! I wasn’t feeling it, dawg. Just kididng. :-) Just channeling my inner fat Randy Jackson.

  • Matt

    Hey Brent,

I thought the singing was quite good. You shouldn’t feel that you have no talent.

I was actually at the UW campus a couple of days ago for my Freshman Orientation (I’m attending in the fall), and I passed by the room with “Judas Kiss Production” written on the white board, which was quite exciting. Too bad I didn’t run into you there.

And your hair looks great no matter what. Certainly no dead animal.

    Lots of love,

    Matt

  • Creeker

    How’s the thumb?

It looks like it hurt; the dick molding twitrpic from Gio Caruso clearly shows a sore digit.

I hope it feels better and you’re getting some rest.

  • the french

You can not sing very well!! but its ok, its just not your thing.
Stop being such a perfectionnist, have fun.
I resuntly saw some of your movies and you tend to be way corky ( i think that is the word).
Have fun and play along, dont think to much, dont act to much.
Chill out and juste be your self if you know who you are.
Good luck cause i still do not know who i am, will i ever know??!
P.s. happy to see you doing something else then porn, you are very beautiful like this.

    The French

  • Dan

    Hey there,
I’m not sure where to send you a message on your site. So, I hope this is OK. I will be in So. Calif. for Gay Days at Disneyland. It would be cool, if you could head up for a day or two at the Magic Kingdom. It is a lot of fun!! It is the first weekend of Oct. and Saturday the 2nd is the Big Gay Event in the park!!!
So, check it out, it would be cool to see you.

  • Hannah Lam

Well, I was going to tell you to just try and let go of those nerves and just do your best, but since this video is almost 2 weeks old, I guess it’s redundant. =P

  • Quantz

Apropos stepping out of your comfort zone. Will you still go by your stage name? It could probably be helpful to drop it if you experience difficulties in mainstream because of your porn career. If Judas Kiss opens a new chapter in your life this might be the right time to make that decision.

  • jesse

i am just being honest it really was not that good i think you should take your pace with the song and hold the notes out as they should . awesome hot guy but you need a little more practice dont get me wrong your voice is not bad it just needs more training.

    ciao

  • michael

I love the passion you have when you sing. Since you have experience with acting and being in front of a camera you probably understand the significance of encompassing a “persona” when u peform… you have that down and it shows greatly, which is awsome. I thinks its totally AWSOME your trying to diversify and break away from the usual. I will say that you could use some practice at getting better at using your higher voice and perhaps doing scales. It seems like you are a bit timid when u are faced with a higher pitch… just go for it dont be nervous and dont give up youlle be great!

  • Mike

It was just over four years ago, we were both in a different place, that I had just broken with my 3 yr gf and saw you on a video program talking about your probs and history with Cobra. It made me just stop and gawk and realize I was gay – a heavy piece for a 21 y/o at the time! We corresponded a bit and I had the proverbial change my life experience (as the dramatic inclination would say)! All that to say, as one who really can’t sing – you are fine and will be plenty decent for a group sing. If it doesn’t work, however, take you shirt off, give that smile and wide eye look and no one will know if you sang on key or not :) Mike

  • EpsilonAnder

First off, I have to say that you’re adorable. Some people idolize people that get on film, and forget that they can be just as nervous as people that don’t do it at all. Secondly, your voice is not bad. You need to breath more from your diaphragm feel the resonance in your upper chest and throat when the words come out. If you just sound out a note, and take it up and down the scale, you can feel how the vibrations change in your body as you do it. Find one that is comfortable for you to hold on the high side, and the low side, and that is your range. High side should have resonance behind your nasal cavity, and low side in the chest. Aim for somewhere in that area and with a little practice, you will do fine. Good luck, can’t wait to see the finished product.

  • Hey Brent,

I’m the Artistic Director of a new theatre company in Chicago…we’re launching this fall. If you are indeed interested in trying out your acting chops, I’d love to chat. I’m all about collaboration, supporting and strengthening promising actors, and doing high quality theatre. Drop a line.

  • DaveGBuffalo

First of all, if that’s how you look with no product in your hair, you have nothing to worry about! As for being nervous about singing for your movie, that’s totally natural. Anybody in the business of entertaining, acting, singing or what-have-you, and I’m sure you have experienced it yourself, gets a little anxious sometimes for a gig for whatever reason(s). Now, the fact that you aren’t hiding from it and doing your best is all that matters – it’s professional, and you have nothing to be embarassed about. It’s easy to sit at a computer and criticize somebody’s abilities when you’ve never been in their shoes. So anybody who posts discouraging remarks ~ I’m sure they’ve never had to sing in front of a camera before, I’m sure they’ve never starred in an adult film, I’m sure they’ve never acted in mainstream, I’m sure they’ve never hosted or danced at an event, etc. Everybody’s a critic. Just have fun with it!

  • bluesteel

Dont worry Brent, I think you have a sweet voice and with musice as a backing you will be even greater keep up the great work hugs paul
