Brent--

The most difficult job of writing is editing which is not to be mistaken for proofreading. True editing is pruning away the deadwood of the written word that does not convey that which you, as the writer, truly wish to convey. Editing also involves shifting a sentence or whole paragraph to another point in your work in progress for the purposes of continuity and coherence of the whole to your theme--what it is you are trying to accomplish with the entire writing. That editing discipline is the mark of an accomplished writer.

You have a good sense of the written word. Sometimes the greatest eloquence comes through in the simplest word choice. You have an artistry with words. Use editing, not a computer application function, but human vision to shape your words into a meaningful, entire composition.

When will the book be published, and will it be available through this site?
Don't rip out any pages, your mother will find the complete book anyway! Put everything in the book.
You weren't planning to run for political office were you? I appreciate your openness in writing about
your life experiences.
By the way, my roommate and I sometimes scream at each other over trivial matters but we're still
together since the mid 1970's!
When will you have your next live webcam show?

Don't worry about the erotic aspects, man. Even without them, you'd still be cringing at your mum reading... y'know... the book what you wrote, but her "My son wrote a book!" reaction will probably *way* outweigh any reaction to the actual content. And not being self-conscious about that sort of shit is kinda the writerly equivalent of not looking at the cameras. If that makes sense. :)

Writing something at all is never easy, sitting back and looking at events in your own life and then writing about them with the reaction of the readers in mind is really, really hard, and it would be rather a sign that you're not identifiying with your writing if you weren't struggling with it. I believe the struggle itself is something very rewarding, and though I only know you from your online presence, I believe in your ability to write this book to your satisfaction. :)

As for the eroticism part... well, the people who pick this book up probably already know you're in the adult business. Hell, I myself expected there to be some details about your work in it, just because the story you're telling can't be told without its proper setting. And since you chose to present your perspective in the form of a novel, it seems to me to be only natural that there are some erotic scenes. And why shouldn't there be? You want to be frank about what happened, wouldn't it be kind of counterproductive if you chose to gloss over what some people mind refer to as "dirty details"?

That's not the main point you want to make, after all (some little novel for a bit of one-handed reading), and if your book mirrors this, you'll be just fine.

Longwinded answer much, huh. The gist of it - erotic writing can be art, sure. Don't think about your mother while doing it (the writing, I mean, of course). ;)

I'm very much looking forward to reading the result!

Write it as it feels right to you. In my experiences with composing literature, it seems like we do a lot of internal censorship and "scrubbing" of the words before they come out. First and foremost, be yourself. I've always enjoyed your writing style, and (like others have mentioned) find it conveys a real sense of what is going through your head.

Worry about being true to yourself and expressing things first...in this case, maybe thinking too much about the big picture is a hindrance rather than help.

Courage! You can do this. And I completely sympathize with having a misunderstanding with your significant other based on frustration. Goodness knows how my boyfriend put up with me while writing my master's thesis :P

Sending calm thoughts your way.

I know the book will be a great read no matter what direction you plan to take it in (but maybe I'm a bit biased ;) I have faith in you. Try not to worry about deadlines too much, the words will come and the story will be told. And your mother might not like what she reads but she should be proud of you for who you have become.
Beautiful pictures as always =D

Magic remains in mystery.

What's the goal? Catharsis, satisfaction, vengence, confession, profit . . .

You seem to find the right balance in life. This will be no different.

I agree with Ernie: "Write the thing. Write the whole thing. Write the shit out of it!"

You CAN write and you ARE writing. Fantastic! It's your writing that keeps me coming back to your site.

Good Luck!
